Lush ‘Sikkim Girls’ by Gorilla Perfume

We all know that when you walk into a Lush store you are overcome by delicious smells! Lush has harnessed their ability to make deliciously scented products with their new range of Gorilla Perfumes.

A father and son team are the brains behind this range of perfumes. With a focus on the scent, rather than the bottle (although the packaging is still lovely) hence the catch phrase “Perfume is the point”.

Sikkim Girls

All of the scents are inspired by memories, and each perfume tells a story. The story behind the Sikkim Girls scent is this:

“While hanging out in the oddly named ‘Hot Stimulating Café’ in Darjeeling, the café owner warned Sheema to stay away from the dangerous Sikkim Girls. When asked why, the owner said they had seduced and stolen away his son-in-law. Somehow they had accomplished this whilst covered head-to-toe and simply with a subtle yet sexual sway of their bodies.”

Sikkim Girls

Sikkim girls is blend of frangipani, jasmine, vanilla and tuberose. It is a very powerful scent, with just a little on the wrist enough to enjoy the smell all day long. I find the white florals and vanilla scent overpower the frangipani a little bit – and it does seem to wear quite differently on different people but it is a very lovely and very unique scent. I’ve had comments almost every time i’ve worn it as it doesn’t smell like anything else out there!

You can purchase Gorilla perfumes from Lush stores or online here. The perfumes are very affordable with 7g retailing at $25, or $28g for $40.

Guerlain La Petite Robe Noire EDT

One of the latest fragrance from Guerlain is the beautiful La Petite Robe Noir – the little black dress of perfumes. This Eau de Toilette version is a lighter, sweeter scent to the Parfume.

Guerlain Paris La Petite Robe Noire

The top notes include Jasmine, Rose and Green notes with Sour Cherry, Orange Blossom and Apple middle notes and a base of White Amber, Patchouli and White Musk all housed in this beautiful perfume bottle.

Guerlain Paris La Petite Robe Noire

The mix of Jasmine and Cherry are the scents which seem to remain throughout the day, wearing off to reveal a hint of white amber. It is a super fresh and youthful fragrance which is my current daily scent. The fruitiness of it just seems to brighten my mood, a very girly scent perfect for the warmer weather.

The 50ml version retails at $105, 30ml $77 and 100ml $153.

Available from Myer, David Jones & all good perfume stores, pick up this gorgeous scent or have a sniff for yourself!

Get Some Spring in your Scent – L’eau de Chloé

A recent addition to my fragrance wardrobe is this beautiful scent by Chloé. As with all Chloe scents, it features beautiful packaging – the trademark ribbon & metal cap as well as clear glass to showcase the green scent inside.

L'eau de Chloe

L’Eau de Chloé is a lighter, more citrusy fragrance than the original Chloé EDP and with just one sniff seems to encapsulate everything spring!

L'eau de Chloe

Top Notes of Citrus, Grapefruit and Peach combine with the classic (and very Chloé) middle notes of rose and rose water alongside violet. Base notes of Patchouli, Cedar & Amber come out as the fragrance settles on skin and are most evident as the scent wears throughout the day.

A perfect green light citrus scent for somebody who maybe normally leans towards rose fragrances, and although it is less of a musky scent compared to other winter fragrances I lean towards it’s a perfect little pick me up for cold winter’s days when you need a little bit more of a spring in your scent!

Available from Myer & David Jones in store & online.
