Dove’s latest line is for those with colour treated hair – that want it to be both beautifully nourished, and their colour protected.
Now frequent readers may know that I am a not so natural red head and I have been using a number of salon brands to keep this colour intact but I was yet to try out any supermarket brands so I was keen to see how they compared! The four products that I tried were the Shampoo, Conditioner, Leave in Conditioning Spray and the Express Treatment Conditioner.
The Shampoo & Conditioner both have a beautiful sweet scent and contain a colour revitaliser and micro moisture serum. The Damage Therapy Colour Care Conditioner contains a damage sensor technology serum that works to repair hair damage and lock in colour to gently cleanse without stripping any essential moisturisers away. I noticed my colour being more vibrant and not fading as fast as it normally does. The conditioner is light and doesn’t weigh hair down and also leaves it smelling beautiful. I love both of these – however the other two products in the range were my favourite!
The Express treatment conditioner worked wonders on my hair, again with colour revitalising ingredients and UV filter. It has a dual action formula, and when you use it this almost resembles tooth paste with a pink stripe which is the Colour Revitalising ingredient. Simply apply like conditioner and leave for 1-3 minutes. While it does make hair feel even more silky smooth the longer you leave it I find that 60 seconds will still do the trick and is perfect when you’re in a hurry! My hair feels so silky smooth after I’ve applied, it can be used daily but I generally will just use it once a week and stick to the normal colour radiance conditioner the rest of the time.
Last but not least the Colour Radiance Leave-in Conditioning & Care Spray. This made me reminisce of days when my mother would try and get the knots out of my hair and using a conditioning detangling spray! It is nothing of the sort and honestly, my hair being so colour treated can get pretty knotty and unmanageable. Again this colour has the beautiful scent of the rest of the range and gives a boost of hydration and shine to hair while being completely weightless. You can apply to Wet or Dry hair – I’ve been using it mostly in between washes on dry hair and find it gives the best results.
All of the products in this range are super affordable, with the Shampoo & Conditioner selling for $6.50 the Express treatment for $7.50 (bargain!) and the conditioning spray is $10.
In terms of a range which will help protect, nourish and lock in colour – you cannot get anything better than this for the price! All under $10 and available from supermarkets and pharmacies.
