Obagi Review: Hydrate Luxe Moisture Rich Cream & Professional-C Serum

Obagi is a leading American brand and has recently been gaining a bit of traction in Australia. Obagi’s medical grade products target a range of skin concerns using a range of potent formulas.

Coming into winter, one of my biggest skin concerns has been hydration. My skin isn’t sensitive, but always gets temperamental and dry when the seasons change. I was particularly excited to try the Hydrate Luxe Moisture-Rich Cream to help boost my skin’s moisture levels.

The texture of this product was one of the first things I noticed, it is incredibly creamy and thick – a little like butter! This product is formulated to be used overnight, as this thick texture wouldn’t be appropriate for daytime wear but leaves skin feeling beautiful in the morning. I suffer from dry, flaky skin on my nose which has decreased significantly since I began using this moisturiser. Alongside the hydrating benefits, ingredients in the Hydrate Luxe Moisture-Rich Cream go towards increasing skin firmness, strength and reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.

I was using this moisturiser in conjunction with another Obagi product, the Obagi Professional-C Serum 15%. This serum contains a concentrated dose of Vitamin C, an ingredient used to help brighten skin and retain moisture. The product comes with a dropper, and only a few drops are needed to cover the face, meaning this bottle will last for quite some time. While I was using the Hydrate Luxe Cream only at night, I was using this serum twice a day. It goes a long way to smooth the skin prior to the application of makeup and locks in moisture for the rest of the day. You can tell it’s got a strong dose of Vitamin C in there as there is definitely an orangey smell upon application. The 15% strength is appropriate for most skin types, however, there are also 20% and 10% varieties.

You can find your nearest Obagi stockist online. The Hydrate Luxe Moisture-Rich Cream and Professional-C Serum 15% both retail at $79.95.

Every Little Bit Helps

Beauty Bloggers & make-up hoarders have one very common first world problem..What to do with all this stuff? I am very lucky to receive some beautiful products from amazing brands, sometimes in multiples. On top of that my obsession with beauty can see me accumulate gift’s with purchase or samples that I can’t really use myself.

Just the other day I came across a solution to this little problem, and it’s called “Every Little Bit Helps”.

Every Little Bit Helps

Every Little Bit Helps is a registered Australian not-for-profit charity with the specific purpose of receiving and redistributing unwanted and unused complimentary hotel toiletries, airline amenity kits, sanitary items, make-up and cosmetic samples to those in need including Homeless Shelters, Women’s Shelters and Youth Shelters.

I thought this was a fabulous idea, and a very easy way to contribute something to those who would really appreciate it.

You can read more about supporting the cause on the Every Little Bit Helps Website, but for individuals you can simply post your products to:
PO Box 340, Forestville NSW 2087.

If you can’t support them yourself, you can spread the word by sharing their website or facebook with those who may be able to.

It may seem like you are not dong much, but every little bit helps.
