Bella Box January 2013

19 Jan

It’s the first beauty box for the new year! The first to arrive was Bella Box with their “Australian” themed box – celebrating Australian Beauty Brands. So what’s in the box?

BellaBox Jan

A mostly skincare based box but with a good mix of brands, although all of these have been in a previous bella box.

Swisse Body Wash

Swisse Body Wash

Containing Vitamin B3 and Macrobiotic Sea Minerals this body wash is good for all skin types, and the swisse brand in general is great for sensitive skin as they leave out a lot of nasties in their products. I’ve tried the Swisse hand cream before from the last bella box (which I didn’t blog because I was crazy busy!) and I quite like it!

RRP 14.95 for 250ml

Face Of Australia Purifying Cleansing Wipes

I have been using these – they were in the November Lust Have It Box & it’s a little annoying they are included in bella box just two months later! On top of that, while Face of Australia is an Australian brand a few people have been commenting that they are made in china – so there could of been better picks to represent Australian brands to go along with this months theme. I do like this product, I keep them beside my bed for any nights when I’m a bit naughty and don’t properly wash my face in the evening!

RRP $4.95

You, Me & Every Body Cool it Aloe Vera Gel

This is a great product, and is great for sunburn! Also as a moisturiser for hot days especially on your arms I just applied it and it’s lovely and cooling.

RRP $8.95

MODE Nail polish in Rave’n

This is an incredibly bright fluro orange nail polish from mode! This was in the July box as well (in a glitter) and I thing it is a very good quality for the price.

RRP $2.45

Natio BB Cream

This was also included in the box, I got a medium shade which is too dark for my skin but it’s great that they have three different shades. I don’t particularly like sachets of this size because they are so messy and you don’t really get a feel for the product but it’s good to see an Australian brand with a BB cream!

RRP 14.95

So.. this months bella box, what did you think? The value of the products included is around $18 which isn’t quite as impressive as previous boxes but I suppose it evens out! There is some great brands, although most we have seen before in beauty boxes so the aspect of discovering new brands also isn’t quite as great as previous months. Would love to hear what you think though – leave me your thoughts in the comments!

I felt this month was a slip. Product and value wise. There could’ve been so many other brands to represent Australia in cosmetics and skincare!
