The Clarisonic – does it live up to the hype?
29 Jan
Thanks to Beauty Heaven I finally got my hands on a Clarisonic Mia!! This has been on my wishlist for SO long, and I was pretty excited to put it to the test and see if it lived up to all the hype!
Firstly, it is ridiculously cute & PINK! Nothing needs to be put together at all, the Clarisonic can be used in the shower so it is all one sealed unit, there isn’t even a plug to charge it because it uses a special magnetic type of charger which clips over the top.
I started using the Clarisonic twice a day in conjunction with the gentle hydro cleanser sample which was included in the pack. I noticed a change to my skin from day one. It feels cleaner than ever before, and much smoother. My skin did purge out impurities over the first week so I did have a couple of breakouts but it has since settled down a lot more. I find that my nighttime serums soak into the skin better and my makeup is easier to apply – I previously had some dry areas which became obvious if I applied foundation without a primer but this has evened out a lot more and my foundation applies much better.
The brush head that comes with the unit is suited for sensitive skin, but there are a variety of different heads from Normal to Acne Prone however I think the sensitive brush is a good starting point so as to not shock the skin too much!

Here is a before & after shot (eek! me with no makeup!) that I took after using the Clarisonic twice a day for two weeks. My skin looks brighter, blotchiness is reduced and it doesn’t look quite as oily as before.
I would highly recommend the Clarisonic for anybody looking to step up their skincare routine, the Mia retails at $139 and is available from Myer & David Jones as well as Adore Beauty .
Have you tried the Clarisonic Mia? Would love to hear how you found it!
I received the Clarisonic as part of a beauty heaven trial team. This hasn’t altered my opinions in any way and I will always bring you honest reviews!

I’ve been wanting to try the clarisonic for ages but don’t want to fork out that much money lol. Glad to hear you had a good experience.
They are a bit of a skincare investment, the up side is that you will save money on other components of your skincare i.e. exfoliant because this can replace it. I am so obsessed with it though that I would repurchase it in a heartbeat if anything ever happened to it!
